Stargate Theme Park Dubai 99% complete: Osus, a property developer, has announced that 99 per cent of construction has been completed at the Dh250 million spaceship-styled family theme park Stargate being developed at the Zabeel Park.

The project, also called Bawabat Al Nojoum, will be completed and handed over this summer as scheduled, a company statement said.

Construction is almost finished, while nearly 30 per cent of electromechanical works and nine per cent of interior design and decoration works of Stargate have been completed, Jameel Al Tahlwai, Stargate project manager, said.

A computer generated graphic shows how Stargate, the Dh250 million spaceship styled family theme park under construction at Zabeel Park will look.

Osus will assign Westech, a Swiss leisure services provider, to supply the project with all leisure equipment and the installation of rides and games, Raief Hafez, Stargate's business development manager, said.

Osus has been mandated by Dubai Municipality to develop and manage the project under a 30-year build-operate-transfer (BOT) concession. Dubai Municipality will be the owner of the project after 30 years.

The family theme park, spreading across 260,000 square feet, is located inside the 52-hectare Zabeel Park, near the Dubai International Convention Centre in Bur Dubai and Karama.
