Shams Abu Dhabi progressing ahead of schedule

Infrastructure work at Shams Abu Dhabi, Sorouh Real Estate's iconic development on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi, is progressing as per schedule and plans. Shams Abu Dhabi is Dh25 billion landmark self-sustaining city featuring Central Park, the Gate District, Sky Tower, Sun Tower and Marina.

The 1.5 km of seawall forming the east coastline of the real estate development has been completed with 77% of the marina wall already in place. The road and utility works is scheduled for completion by the end of 2009. The bridge is scheduled to finish by the 3rd quarter of 2009. Concrete substructure construction has commenced and is so far 30% complete.



The construction of the 74-storey Sky Tower realty project has reached level 36 including 3 floors of basement, and the core of the building has reached its 40th level. The construction of 65-storey Sun Tower project has reached level 30 including 3 floors of basement, and the core of the building has reached its 36th level. The concept design for Shams Marina will be completed by the end of September 2008.

The first phase of Shams Abu Dhabi will be completed in the first quarter of 2010 and the expected completion date for the whole real estate development is 2013.
